New TELNorth website

North TEL have launched a new website including information about North TEL Support Service, the regionally developed course catalogue, how to apply for Lectora and Vimeo licences along with how to contact us. The site also includes TEL related events happening in the regional, regular newsletters old and new and will be developed further over the coming months.

Call for contributions: Jisc Survey AR and VR in education

ALT are exploring whether to step up Jisc activity around immersive technologies such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, and have created a short survey to help them understand the sort of support members might find useful: 
Once the survey is complete they will be publishing a summary of the results – most likely in September.

HEE Learning survey

Health Education England (HEE) have commissioned a new learner experience survey to provide details of how different staff groups are using technology to access education and their experiences of using technology enhanced learning (TEL). The results of the survey will enable HEE to make important decisions about where to focus their attention.

2. New Resources

Intellectual Disability and Depression e-Learning programme launched

The Intellectual Disability and Depression e-Learning programme introduces two therapies – Behavioural Activation and Guided Self-help, that have been adapted and carefully tested in recent research. The e-Learning sessions are aimed at health and social care professionals with experience of delivering psychological therapies to people with intellectual disabilities.
The programme is available to access via the e-LfH Hub and NHS Education for Scotland’s digital platform.

Career Planning for Pre-Registration and Foundation Pharmacists

The e-Learning course has been designed to help Pre-registration and Foundation Pharmacists, in the early stages of their careers, make informed career choices and effective applications for future career steps. This course is the latest in a number of bespoke career planning courses developed for health professionals within the e-LfH career planning programme.
The programme is available via the e-LfH Hub and the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).

Medico-legal Training programme

The Medico-legal Training programme provides resources for doctors and other health and care professionals who may be asked to write a statement or report or give evidence in a coroners’ or other court for the first time. It aims to offer support for what can be, for many, a daunting experience. It includes brief video lectures and PowerPoint slides from the lectures as well as sample statements and references.
The e-Learning resource is available now on the e-LfH Hub and will soon also be available on the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).
