Vacancy – Digital Training Officer – York St John University

CuppaCare – FREE taster app

CuppaCare is a mobile learning resource for homecare workers. A  free Taster App has been pre-loaded with a sample of Sips (small bit size pieces of information)  aimed at people working in homecare and include subjects such as;

    • Dementia care: helping someone eat
    • How to empty a catheter bag
    • Respecting confidentiality

You can find it in your app store if you search for ‘CuppaCare’ (all one word, both ‘C’s capitalised).

The developers are keen to collect feedback (via an in-app rating+comment function), so if you know anyone with an interest in homecare, please pass the details on to them.

Learning Technologies Conference 13-14 February 2019

2. New Resources

000 North: Cancer Related Fatigue

Cancer Related Fatigue eLearning is collected multi-disciplinary information that anyone working in Oncology can use to help advise patients on the management of Cancer Related Fatigue. It gives practical tips and techniques to help people adapt to what they can now manage. This package promotes awareness of the impact upon the patient’s life, and encourages acknowledgement of their experience as a result of cancer and its treatment.

By the end of the session the learner will be aware of:

    • Cancer Related Fatigue’s prevalence and impact
    • Cancer Related Fatigue’s cause or contributing factors
    • Cancer Related Fatigue management techniques and feel confident in advising patients

Diabetic Foot Screening Interactive Assessment

This e-learning tool aims to improve practices in foot care for patients with diabetes.

The Diabetic Foot Screening Interactive Assessment has been designed to be used by health and social care professionals who care for people with diabetes and who already have a knowledge of the procedures and skills involved. A complementary e-learning programme is also available.

New content added to the Educators Training Resource programme

Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare (HEE e-LfH) has added new content to the Educators Training Resource programme to help educators in their role of supporting the careers of their junior colleagues.

The Supporting Career Conversations for Educators content can be found within the course 06 – Guiding Personal and Professional Development as part of the Educators Training Resource Programme.  The content sets out the rationale for providing careers support to more junior colleagues, trainees and learners and the value of this to the organisation.

Career Planning e-learning for Pre-Registration and Foundation Pharmacists

Health Education England e-Learning for Healthcare (HEE e-LfH) has developed an e-learning course to help pre-registration and foundation pharmacists, in the early stages of their careers, make informed career choices and effective applications for future career steps. This course is the latest in a number of bespoke career planning courses developed for health professionals within the e-LfH career planning programme.
